JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police are searching for the man who held up a downtown bank Tuesday afternoon.Around 1 PM, a black male dressed with a surgical cap on his head with his face covered with bandages robbed the Bank Plus at 175 Capitol street in the Landmark building.

Watts said by phone today that his other new position will be that of head of the Hinds County Sherrif's Office Reserve Unit.

The announcement was made at a community meeting in Fondren Monday, according to an announcement from the City of Jackson.

Precint 4 previously had eight beats.

Jackson couple charged with sexual battery

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson married couple has been arrested and charged with sexual battery of a minor.

Attorney General Jim Hood announced Wednesday, Jan and William Webb of Jackson were indicted by the Hinds County Grand Jury Monday.

Jan Webb, 42, is charged with sexual battery by a person in a position of trust against a family member under the age of 18.

Jackson police investigating several armed robberies

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police are investigating four armed robberies.

The first was at a local grocery store in West Jackson around 7:30 Tuesday morning. A man walked in and asked a manager for a job application. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded money.
