Belhaven University's Annual Honors Convocation awarded some of the highest academic honors to the year's top performing students Thursday.

Justin Bell, a sixth grader at Siwell Middle School, has been named a 2012 Carson Scholar by the Carson Scholars Fund. Each year, the Fund recognizes high achieving students in grades 4 – 11 who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and humanitarian qualities.
